This category covers a whole heap of different things. Mostly it covers meetups and events, usually in London but quite often somewhere else. It also may include exhibitions, shows and other informative events which I attend. Hopefully quite interesting.
Agile Product Management was the subject for October’s ProductTank, with talks from Roman Pichler, Harvey Wheaton and Tom Loosemore. Agile management is an iterative method of determining requirements for projects in a highly flexible and interactive manner, and on client side projects working to budgetary requirements, rather than fixed scopes and specifications, it is being adopted by many organisations.
I recently had the chance to see North Kingdom as part of a D&AD Presidents Lecture in London. Hosted by Sanky from AllofUs, the event allowed two of North Kingdom to spread the word about their creative practice.
I recently visited the Tate Modern just before the Sunflower Seeds exhibition by Ai Weiwei closed. I didn’t expect to be exposed to lead paint and silica dust.
Donald Judd describes John Pawson’s work as ‘The simple expression of complex thought’. The exhibition on Pawson’s work at the Design Museum, which ended recently, shows a great overview of his design approach and methodology to architectural practice.
I recently attended a talk by Bruce Lawson from Opera at the London Web meetup group. It proved to be an interesting insight into HTML 5 and the future of the web, including some interesting audience questions near the end.

Friday marked the launch of the London Design Festival with the writing of the words “LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL 2010 IS NOW OPEN” on the set of Audi production line robots which have been placed in Trafalgar Square.
Scot Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk is an event which takes place each year around the world where photographers come together in groups to take pictures within their local areas. Last year I went to the Bristol event, but since moving to London 9 months ago, I decided this year to take part in the Richmond event on this years photowalk day.
I took some time out to visit the Dieter Rams exhibition at the Design Museum. Less and More: The Design Ethos of Dieter Rams is in it’s last weeks, an I wanted to take a look before it moved on or disappeared forever. I thought it might be a good place to see some of his products in the flesh and take a few photos.
On Saturday 6th of February I attended a photographic workshop organised through the London Strobist Meetup group on Flickr. This is the second event i’ve been to and from the pattern so far, the events are as broad and wide as you can want in a strobist photographic group. The workshop is an extra event in addition to the tour of universities throughout the country Tom Miles has been doing. Read on to find out more about the day.
